Chapter 29
The Rolling Berry Basket and the Fuzzy Green Friend
Year 1 of the Rainbow Era, Spring Late Afternoon
Blossom and Pip looked closely at the bright water drop, clapping their hands as red, blue, and yellow light spots bounced on the green grass in a burst of magic.
The Great Berry Basket Chase
A sudden rush of wind sweeps across the green grass of the Chime Cove Canopy meadow. The little empty berry basket starts to roll fast across the ground. Chloe laughs out loud with her long pink hair flying. Blossom runs on her sparkly green shoes, and Pip giggles as he chases the rolling basket down the gentle hill.
Strong gust of wind blows through the meadow, making Chloe, Blossom, and Pip chase after their rolling berry basket. They run fast after it as the big wind pushes it across the green grass. Chloe's pink hair blows all around her face. Blossom and Pip chase it too, shouting with happy voices until Pip catches the basket near a big green fern leaf.
With a happy cheer, Pip holds the basket tight. The three friends sit close together in the warm shade under the tall fern leaf out of the wind. They feel safe and snug while the big wind blows softly overhead through the tall trees.
The Wiggling Little Caterpillar
Pip looks down in the soft green grass next to the fern leaf. He sees a big green leaf move. A tiny, fuzzy green caterpillar crawls out to say hello.
Pip giggles and points at the little bug. Chloe and Blossom come over to look. The caterpillar wiggles its fuzzy body up and down. Everyone is very happy to see their new green friend.
The sun shines down through the leaves. The little caterpillar curls up on a soft blade of grass, and Chloe smiles big and bright, wondering what game they will play next.
