Tides of Iron and Abyssal Dread
Mid Autumn of the 15th Year of the Obsidian Tide
Faced with deepening paralysis and intense pressure, the magistrates of Oakhaven finally yielded emergency naval powers to Captain Kaelen's defense coalition, though questions lingered over whether unity had come too late.
The Western Fleet and the Granite Redoubt
With emergency maritime oversight finally granted, Captain Kaelen wasted no time reorganizing the idle harbors of Oakhaven. Independent sea captains, previously paralyzed by legislative deadlock, were commissioned into an active defense network. Galleys and reinforced skiffs were retrofitted with heavy netting and sound-dampening plates, establishing a vigilant patrol line across the western archipelago's shallow straits to secure shipping lanes against lurking leviathans.
Far away across the water, high above the stormy Atani Coast, the marine priests faced a different kind of survival. Having abandoned their lower coastal shrines to scalding waters and waking horrors, they labored day and night on the gale-swept granite peaks. Using heavy iron chisels and ancient liturgical rites, they engraved massive sound-dampening wards and deep-rock anchor points into the living stone, seeking to insulate their newfound redoubt from the horrific acoustic resonance emitted by the serpentine leviathans churning the radioactive-smelling surf below.
Attrition in Ironhollow
Following the breach of Ironhollow's primary perimeter barricades by Clan Vane vanguard units, the conflict devolved into an unforgiving war of attrition. Obsidian Pact forces pushed deeper into the town block-by-block, locked in grueling urban combat against insurgent laborers and local blacksmiths.
Every street corner and municipal storehouse became a flashpoint. Armed insurgents mounted desperate counter-attacks from fortified windows and barricaded cellars, determined to protect their seized grain reserves and deny the frontline any access to local iron. As the autumn air filled with the smoke of ruined buildings and the persistent clatter of arms, neither side showed any willingness to yield the smoking ruins of the valley town—leaving the entire eastern sector caught in a slow, grinding crucible that threatened to consume them all.
