The Moss Chair in the Glow
Wednesday, September 25th, 42nd Year of the Canopy
Pip, Bramble, and Nutmeg unlocked a hidden brass archway behind the library scrolls and peeked inside a cozy room lit by glowing acorn-cap lamps.
The little brass archway stood wide open, and soft golden light spilled out onto the wooden floor of the library. Pip the mouse and Nutmeg the squirrel stayed right outside the door. They held their breath and watched their friend.
Bramble the hedgehog wanted to see what was inside the cozy space. He crawled very carefully through the open archway. His quills brushed softly against the stone sides as he stepped into the secret room. Above his head, tiny lamps made from empty acorn caps hung from the ceiling. They gave off a warm and friendly glow that made the whole room feel like a sunny afternoon.
Bramble looked up and gently poked one of the hanging lamps with his nose. It swung back and forth just a little bit, sending dancing shadows across the tiny wooden shelves on the wall. Pip and Nutmeg smiled at each other from the hallway, glad that their brave friend was having such a grand adventure.
As Bramble walked further into the room, he saw something very special tucked into the corner. It was a tiny chair made entirely of soft green moss, shaped just right for a little hedgehog. Bramble walked over to the moss chair and sat right down on it. It felt as soft as a pillow and fit him like a glove. He rested his paws on his knees and looked around the wonderful hidden room, wondering what other secrets might be waiting to be found.
